Message from the Group CEO

Since our founding in 1902 as Japan’s first mutual company, our Group has remained committed to addressing social issues and adapting to changes in the business environment. By taking decisive steps that we believed were right at each stage—such as going public in 2010 and transitioning to a holding company structure in 2016—we have earned the trust and support of our stakeholders.
The business environment is changing significantly, driven by greater diversity in people’s values and lifestyles, demographic changes, rapid advances in digital technologies and generative AI, and the increasing impact of geopolitical risks. In response, we reviewed our Group’s role in society and, in 2024, defined our Purpose: “Partnering with you to build a brighter and more secure future.” This Purpose reflects our strong commitment to becoming a corporate group that helps open new possibilities for diverse lives by staying even closer to our customers as an insurance and related services provider that delivers a wide range of value beyond traditional life insurance.
To realize this aspiration as one unified Group, we will change our corporate name to Daiichi Life Group, Inc. in April 2026 and renew our Group brand name to the English “Daiichi Life.” The word “Life” carries not only the meaning of “life insurance” but also the broader sense of “journey of people’s lives” and “daily living.”
As a roadmap for growth toward the realization of the world envisioned in our Purpose, our Group aims by fiscal year 2030 to become a “global top-tier insurance group” and a “leader shaping the future of the Japanese insurance industry.” With a clear understanding of the business environment, we will not be constrained by conventional frameworks or past successes. Instead, from our own unique perspective, we will conceive and swiftly implement initiatives that enhance the social value created by our Group and, in turn, drive sustainable growth in corporate value.
Daiichi Life Group aspires to continue walking together with our stakeholders and opening up the future. I sincerely appreciate your continued support.
