Inclusion in the ESG Indices

Daiichi Life Group is putting evaluations by the world's primary ESG evaluation organs to use in improving its sustainability initiatives.
The Group has been incorporated into composites for the below ESG indices.(As of June 2025 unless otherwise specified)

FTSE4Good Index Series*1

The FTSE4Good Index Series is a family of indexes compiled by UK-based FTSE Russell, a global index provider. The index is designed to select companies that meet international standards in risk management relating to Environmental, Social and Governance.

FTSE Blossom Japan Index*1

Daiichi Life Group was also selected for inclusion in the FTSE Blossom Japan Index, which is designed to measure the performance of Japanese companies that demonstrate strong Environmental, Social and Governance practices.

S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index

The S&P / JPX Carbon Efficient Index has TOPIX, which is a representative stock index showing trends in the Japanese market as its universe. This index determines the weight of constituent stocks by focusing on the disclosure status of environmental information and the level of carbon efficiency (carbon emissions per sales). The Group is evaluated as “4” on a decile basis, the fourth in the insurance industry, and its disclosure status is classified as “disclosed”.

Dow Jones Sustainability Indices

In December 2023, the Group was selected as a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index, an ESG stock price index provided by S&P Dow Jones Indices, Inc. In addition, Daiichi Life Group was selected as a yearbook member of the “Sustainability Yearbook 2024” announced in February 2024.

The 6th ESG Finance Awards Japan Gold Prize in Investor Category(Minister of the Environment Award)

The “ESG Finance Awards Japan” is a recognition program conducted by Ministry of the Environment to evaluate and honor institutional investors and companies that have made impactful and proactive efforts in ESG finance or environmental and social initiatives. By sharing these advanced practices broadly across society, the program aims to further promote and expand ESG finance and improve its quality.
Daiichi Life, the core company of the Group, was awarded the Gold Prize (Minister of the Environment Award), the highest honor in the investor category, at the 6th ESG Finance Awards Japan.
This marks Daiichi Life's third Gold Prize, following its awards in the inaugural year of the program in FY2019 and in the 4th edition in FY2022, as well as in FY2024.

Health & Productivity Stock Selection 2025

The “Health & Productivity Stock Selection 2025” is a program jointly organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It recognizes and publicly announces listed companies that strategically implement employee health management issues from a business perspective. Daiichi Life Group has been selected for the third time, following previous recognitions in 2015 and 2024.

2025 Outstanding Organizations of KENKO Investment for Health “White 500”

The “2025 Outstanding Organizations of KENKO Investment for Health “White 500”” is a certification program jointly administered by Ministry of Economy and the Nippon Kenko Kaigi. It recognizes the top 500 large-scale corporations that strategically promote employee health management from a business perspective.
Daiichi Life Group has been certified for nine consecutive years, together with Daiichi Life.

Nadeshiko Brand

Daiichi Life Group has been selected as a “Nadeshiko Brand”, a joint selection by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Tokyo Stock Exchange of listed companies that excel in promoting the active participation of women.
This is the fourth time that the Group has been selected, having been selected as a “Nadeshiko Brand” in 2014 and 2018, and as a “Semi-Nadeshiko Brand” in 2019.
We received recognition for our promotion of women's active participation in the workplace. We ensure that our employees have comprehensive career development support from recruitment to promotion, and work-life balance support for both men and women, enabling co-working and co-parenting.

Platinum Kurumin Plus Certification

In November 2023, Daiichi Life received the “Platinum Kurumin Plus Certification” from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, based on the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children. The “Platinum Kurumin Plus Certification” is a system established in April 2022. It is granted to companies that meet the criteria of Platinum Kurumin Plus and proactively support employees in balancing infertility treatment and work responsibilities.
